The Cross (A Psalm)

O unworthy am I, of the mercy Thou givest,
O unworthy art Thou, of the cross meant for me.
O worthy am I, of Thine unending wrath,
O worthy art Thou, of mine undying love.

Thou hast given to me what I do not deserve,
Thou hast taken from me what I can not bear.
Thou hast turned Thine eyes from Thine only Son,
Thou hast turned from me the death that was mine.

What mercy You showed, when You poured out Your wrath,
What life You established, when Your Son tasted death.
What joy was restored in Your greatest sorrow,
What love in my soul for that cross so despised.

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
Acts 2:36
